We escaped a hot 100+ July day in Syracuse (Utah) and headed up to the mountains. In just a little over an hour we more than doubled our elevation from 4200 ft to 10,000+ ft and dropped to a temperature around 65 degrees. That’s one of the many reasons I like living in Utah, having the mountains so close and accessible makes fun to get out and enjoy nature.
This photo was taken at Mirror Lake in the Unita Mountains. I like how the rain is lightly falling on the water with just enough sun to light up the yellow canoe.

My wife had asked me to photograph our kids for their late summer photos, I gladly accepted the invitation.
I have to say, this was one of the hardest photo shoot’s I’ve been on. I can’t count how many times I heard “are we done yet” or ” I’m hot”. I wasn’t sure we would end up with any photos worth while but I’m pleased with most of the photos.
This is my youngest daughter Macey. She loves to be in front of the camera. For this photo I had asked her how she wanted to pose and it turns out, this is one of my favorites. Even though I’m not looking forward to the complaining etc. I am looking forward to taking their fall pictures.

While in Las Vegas last week my wife and I saw “The Phantom of the Opera” at The Venetian. I’m not a big fan of these types of shows but I had heard a lot of good things about it. It was the type of show that you look at your watch when it’s over and are surprised that two hours have passed. The theater was built for the show, wouldn’t expect anything less from Vegas. If you have plans to go to Vegas be sure to see the show.
The photo was taken at the Venetian. We had a few minutes before the show started and I wanted to get some evening shots of the buildings before it was too dark.
