Surfing the Snake River

Canon 5D Mark II * EF-24-105mm f/4.0L * ISO 100 * 1/400 seconds * f/7.1

For the July 4th weekend we always head to Jackson Hole Wyoming for fireworks and hiking in Yellowstone park.  On our drive to Jackson we stop at the Lunch Counter Rapids on the Snake River.  It’s fun to watch the rafts full of people go through the rapids.  We’ve noticed more and more each year surf boards at this location.  It may be hard to tell but this surfer is going against the current, I’ve included a photo below of a small raft full of people as it went past the surfer.

The second photo is perfect, showing them facing the opposite direction really tells the story.
