Light Tunnel
Today’s photo was taken in the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne Country Airport. The lights are choreographed to music and change colors to the beat of music. Even though I was in a bit of a hurry to catch my flight, there was no way I could pass up this photo opportunity.
Hyperboloid Structure
Hyperboloid Structure
Architectural structure designed with hyperboloid geometry. Used in tall structures such as towers where the hyperboloid geometry’s structural strength is used to support an object high off the ground.
Wild West
Today’s shot was taken in downtown Ogden Utah. This is a very large Mural on a side of a building. Ogden has some great buildings and structures that I’m planning on shooting in my spare time.
Evening Sun
While waiting for the sun to set to light up the fresh layer of snow on the Wasatch Mountains for this shot, I glanced over my shoulder to find this. I love how the sun is reflecting off the glass and onto the water. Even though this looks peaceful and calm it was a very cold winter day.
Keywording – A Lesson Learned
I spent some time this week organizing and backing up my photos to DVD’s for offsite storage. I also spent some time looking at photos from my photo bank.
My wife has been struggling with keywording her photos and really didn’t catch the vision until over the holidays when she wanted to find some photos of our children that I had taken last year. I took the time to add keywords when they were processed and because of that it took her seconds to find what she wanted. She now understands the importance of keywording and has implemented that into her workflow when she processes her photos.
If you haven’t started keywording you photos, now is a good time to start.
Nameless
Around the Bend
This shot was taken in an empty field close to my home in Syracuse Utah. One of the things that drew me to the trail was what was behind the camera, a cemetery. I suspect this is a shortcut for kids on their way to or home from school. I’m not sure as a kid I would have taken this shortcut through the cemetery.
Happy New Year!
